Excuse Me, How Long Is The Wait?
I must confess, I am impatient. It is one of thorns in my side. I don’t like to wait in lines. I don’t like to wait for people to get stuff done. I’m always looking for the fastest, most efficient way to do everything. I’m the guy that inches up every 2 seconds at a stop light until I’m just about in the middle of the intersection, anticipating the light change....

Jesus Must Not Love Me.
There is probably no harder a season in our lives than when we witness the sickness and death of someone we love. These seasons often cause us to feel helpless, hopeless, and heavy-hearted. This was what the family and friends of Lazarus faced in John 11.
Confronted with the realization that Lazarus wasn’t going to get better, they were forced to stand by and watch him die. They had...

It Will Not End In Death
John 11
1 Now a man named Lazarus was sick. He was from Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha. 2 This Mary, whose brother Lazarus now lay sick, was the same one who poured perfume on the Lord and wiped his feet with her hair. 3 So the sisters sent word to Jesus, “Lord, the one you love is sick.”
4 When he heard this, Jesus said, “This sickness will not end in death. No, it is...

My Thoughts On: Vicky Beeching's "Eternity...
Every Wednesday, I’m going to do a new post series called “My Thoughts On…” where I will share…well, my thoughts on music I’m currently listening to, a book I’m reading, or some other piece of media I’m in the process of consuming. This won’t be your typical “review.” You can get those from many places by much more qualified people!...

2 Qualities of the Servant God Chooses & Uses (Pt....
In the Bible, King David is known almost as much for His staggering defeats and failures as He is for his victories and triumphs. Yet in all of this, God described Him as a “man after My own heart.” What was it about David? What are some of the qualities that he possessed that put Him in a position to be used by God?
In my previous post, we talked about the fact that David was a...

2 Qualities of the Servant God Chooses & Uses (Pt....
If asked the question, I believe we all would say that we want to be used by God to do great things for His kingdom. There is a desire within us to be effective in our ministry, our leadership, our homes, our workplaces — and the list goes on. If that is our desire, we also must understand that nothing happens by chance. There are principles, based on His word, that God uses when...

Be Generous.
2 Corinthians 9 6 The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 Each one must give as he has made up his mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every...

Brian: Can I have a hug? =)
Lauren: Of course!!
Brian: **proceeds to hug then steps back to mention something else**
Lauren: Can you just hug me? You're wasting my time with all of this talking!
Brian: Funny...that's how I feel most of the time. =)
Both: **Laughing Hysterically**
Most husbands will know why this is funny. Men love to get right to the point of a situation. Ladies love to talk through all of the details, including how we got to that point, what everyone else was doing at that point, how we move on from that point, and finally a review of what we've learned. For just one moment, those roles were reversed! Yes!

A Father's Responsibility
1 Samuel 3 11 And the Lord said to Samuel: “See, I am about to do something in Israel that will make the ears of everyone who hears of it tingle.12 At that time I will carry out against Eli everything I spoke against his family—from beginning to end.13 For I told him that I would judge his family forever because of the sin he knew about; his sons made themselves contemptible, and he failed to...

Yes, I Did It.
Nothing is worse to me than a person who always has excuses. If you make a mistake:
Own up to it.
Apologize for it.
Explain what you learned from it and how you’ll prevent it from happening again.
Move forward!
Leaders take responsibility for their actions — good or bad, right or wrong! Always trying to shift blame is an indicator of a lack of maturity and potentially a lack of...

Real Faith
There has been something on my heart from sometime and I would like to share. Let me start by saying I may write more about this in the future, so please don’t get tired of it. =)
There is a growing trend among churches that distorts what I’d consider a biblical view of faith. There is a craving for what I’d call “the instant”. ”Heal me now. Provide for me...

Update on Alfred Ofori
Here’s an update on Alfred Ofori, a member of our Redeemer Worship band that was in a serious car accident on 495 early this morning. We just got home from visiting him at the hospital. He currently has a fracture in his right arm and in his neck. The arm may require surgery. The neck will be taken care of by a neck brace for a few weeks. He was basically hit on the 495 by a Metro Bus...

Me: Huh?
Lauren: The thing Judah's holding right now?? For some reason I'm having trouble thinking of the word...
Me: I can't see it...
Lauren: You know the thing that you put on your head and push it back over your hair? **motions** What is that called again?
Brian: Ummm...a headband...
Lauren: Yeah!

Enjoy Your Day. Check!
Really enjoyed the unexpected day off today. Got to spend some time with the family and friends. It felt so normal! (If that makes sense). Normally my Saturdays are filled with healthy stress, as we get ready for and participate in our weekend services. Today was nothing but chilling out. I think I took a nap too.
It just doesn’t get any better. Now, back to reality. Holiday’s over!...
Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
Cancelled services today = unexpected BONUS of family time. Me and now are friends again. Judah is gonna get his first experience with snow and a sled here shortly.
Snow? Why.
I’ve come to realize that the only time I like snow is when I see it from inside the warmth of my home. If at any point I have to venture out into the cold, wet, white madness, we are no longer friends. Today is one of those days. Life goes on, work goes on, the only thing that may have a problem going on is my Mazda.
